A day in the life of Kyle Nelson, one of the three original members of Soul id, begins in the early hours of the morning between 5 a.m and 6 a.m. with a cup of coffee. Depending on the day, Kyle might go for an early morning mountain bike ride or just chill on his front porch and watch the sun come up as he enjoys his coffee and catches up on the morning news.

As soon as the caffeine has kicked in, Kyle checks his daily calendar and gets right to work. As the Marketing Director At Soul id, he usually has at least one meeting with either a marketing or public relations rep. or the team at the Soul id office located in downtown Chico. Kyle is always willing to help with anything going on at Soul id and gladly helps mentor anyone who needs it.

At the end of his day, Kyle spends time with his wife Crystal as they prepare to have a baby boy due this coming October!

Soul id: What is your goal for Soul id as one of the original founding members?

Kyle Nelson: I think the ultimate goal for Soul id is to connect as many athletes, photographers and enthusiasts as possible and be able to deliver them epic content on a daily basis.

Soul id: Where are you from originally and why do you live in Chico?

Kyle Nelson: I hail from the town of Middletown, California. It’s a very small country town north of the Napa Valley. One of those communities where everyone knows everyone with only a few stoplights in the entire town. I graduated from Chico State in 2012 and have called Chico my home ever since.

Soul id: Why are you a part of the Soul id team?

Kyle Nelson: I’m a part of Soul id because being a part of such an amazing company built by a team that truly has a passion for connecting athletes and individuals that love action sports is such an awesome experience. Being able to work with your best friends everyday and be a part of something big is a dream come true for myself.

Soul id: Why do you like action sports?

Kyle Nelson: The varied sports in the action sports industry is like nothing else out there. The athletes push themselves to the limit and most times past the limit and pull off amazing things that man never thought were possible. Plus, the culture and people that I have met at events are probably some of the chillest and coolest people out there.

Soul id: Why do you like marketing and what do you do for Soul id?

Kyle Nelson: Marketing is pretty cool because of how broad it is, everything from the Internet, event promotion and advertising. Marketing allows you to meet tons of people and show them something cool that you have helped create yourself.

Soul id: What is the craziest thing you have ever done in your life?

Kyle Nelson: The craziest thing I have ever done is probably sleeping in till 11 a.m. once. That’s how crazy I get, besides that one time I wrestled a bear.

Soul id: What is the best aspect about Soul id?

Kyle Nelson: The best aspect of Soul id is by far the brand. Soul id has done more then create an awesome platform to network with other athletes, it has created an amazing and very sexy brand that represents the action/adventure sports industry as a whole. Soul id has become one of the go to brands to represent to show that you love action/adventure sports today.

Soul id: What is your favorite joke?

Kyle Nelson: The worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades.

Soul id: If you could only bring three things to a deserted island and you were stranded, what would they be?

Kyle Nelson: If I knew that I was going to be stranded on a deserted island beforehand I would avoid it entirely. But, if for some reason I had the ability to choose some stuff to bring beforehand this is what I would choose: My wife, beer, and a yacht!

Soul id: What is your favorite activity to do in Chico?

Kyle Nelson: I enjoy hiking around Bidwell Park or simply just hanging out with family and friends. As long as I am surrounded by people that make each other smile and laugh, any activity is fun.
